Murdo Fraser MSP has congratulated eighteen groups in the Mid-Scotland and Fife area who shared a total of £109,096 of Big Lottery funding.
From scout groups in Leven to rugby clubs in Aberfeldy nearly every corner of the electoral region was successful in securing Awards for All Scotland funding.
Awards For All Scotland is a joint programme between Big Lottery Fund Scotland and sportscotland which gives groups a chance to apply for a grant of between £500 and £10,000 for projects that aim to help improve local communities and the lives of people most in need.
The aim of the funding is to bring local people together helping them learn whilst getting more people active.
Commenting Murdo Fraser MSP said:
“It is great to see so many groups throughout Perth and Kinross, Fife, Stirling and Clackmannanshire receive support from the Big Lottery Fund. Even the smallest amount of funding can make a huge difference and it is welcome to see the region receive nearly a tenth of the whole funding for Scotland
“Lotto funds have been spread wide from Basketball teams in Fife to Rowing clubs in Perth which demonstrates the impressive reach of lottery funding. Getting more people active is hugely important and these monies will help provide coaching and improve facilities across the region.
“Lottery funding has helped keep thousands of people active throughout Mid-Scotland and Fife and it is great news that so many more will receive this type of support from the Big Lottery Fund.”
